Leave status (on leave and PRN)
Understand the active, on-leave, and PRN statuses, how a documented leave pauses cadence checks, and how leave status is set.

This guide explains leave status: how AuditHalo records that a supervisee is on leave or working PRN, and what that changes about their compliance. A documented leave should not read as a missed requirement, and leave status is how AuditHalo keeps it from doing so.
The three statuses
- Active: the default. All checks apply normally.
- On leave: the supervisee is on a documented leave. Cadence checks (for example, a required weekly or individual supervision session) pause for the leave period, so a gap does not open for time the supervisee was not practicing.
- PRN: a badge indicating the supervisee works on an as-needed basis. It is informational and does not change how checks run.
A leave or PRN badge appears on the roster and the supervisee's detail page.

What on-leave changes
While a supervisee is on leave:
- Cadence checks pause, so no recurring-behavior gap is raised for the leave period.
- Accumulation targets remain; the supervisee simply is not accruing during leave.
- When the supervisee returns to active, cadence checks resume.
This means a supervisee's status stays accurate through a documented leave instead of drifting to red for time they were away. See Compliance gaps and how to clear them.
How leave status is set
Leave status is kept in sync from Paycor for organizations that connect it, so an HR leave recorded in the HRIS flows through to AuditHalo. See Connecting Paycor.
Note: PRN is a label only. It does not pause any check; use on-leave for a supervisee who is genuinely not practicing for a period.
