AI-assisted session notes
Generate a structured supervision note from a session transcript, review and edit it, and sign it in, without ever storing the raw transcript.

What you’ll need
- A supervision session to document
- For auto-fetch: a session scheduled with a Teams or Google Meet link
This guide covers AI-assisted session notes: how to turn a session transcript into a structured supervision note, review it, and sign it in. Only supervisors generate notes.
The note is a draft you own. AuditHalo generates it, you edit it, and your signature is what makes it part of the record. The raw transcript is never stored: AuditHalo keeps the structured note and a hash of the input for audit, then discards the transcript text.
Three ways to provide a transcript
- Paste a transcript. Paste the text of the session (at least a short minimum length) directly.
- Auto-fetch from Teams or Google Meet. For a session scheduled with a meeting provider, fetch the transcript in one step using your calendar connection.
- Record in person. For an in-person session, record audio in the browser and let AuditHalo transcribe it.
Generate the note
- Open the session's sign page at
/sign/[sessionId]. - Provide the transcript by pasting, fetching, or recording.
- Confirm there is no client-identifying PHI where prompted.
- Select Generate note.
AuditHalo produces a structured note with topics, competencies, supervisor feedback, and next steps.

Warning: Do not paste protected health information. The note is about the supervision of the clinician, not the client. Confirm the no-PHI prompt before generating.
Review and edit before signing
The generated note is a draft. Edit any section before you sign: adjust the topics, sharpen your feedback, refine next steps. Your edits are saved to the note.
When the note reflects the session, sign it in as part of the session record. See How to log and sign a supervision session.
What is and is not kept
- Kept: the structured note, and a one-way hash of the transcript input for audit.
- Not kept: the raw transcript text itself.
This is why the feature is AI-assisted rather than an automatic recorder: you provide the input, review the output, and own the signed result.
Quotas by plan
AI-assisted transcripts are metered per billing period: 10 per month on Solo, 100 per month for the organization on Practice. Reaching the limit pauses note generation until the next period; logging and signing are unaffected. See Plans and pricing.
What's next
- Sign the note into a sealed evidence package. See How to log and sign a supervision session.
- Connect a calendar to enable auto-fetch. See Connecting your calendar.
