Managing your password and email

Change your password, reset a forgotten one, update your email, and sign out of every device from your account settings.

This guide covers the everyday account-security tasks: changing your password, resetting one you forgot, updating your email address, and signing out of every device. All of these live on your account page at /dashboard/account, except the forgotten-password reset, which starts from the login screen.

Change your password

  1. Go to /dashboard/account.
  2. Find the password section.
  3. Enter your current password and a new one.
  4. Save the change.

Changing your password signs you out of all other sessions, so anyone using an old session is dropped.

Reset a forgotten password

  1. On the login page, select the forgotten-password link.
  2. Enter your email.
  3. Open the reset email and select the link.
  4. Set a new password.

The reset link is valid for one hour. Requests are rate-limited, so wait a moment before asking for another.

Note: For your security, AuditHalo shows the same confirmation whether or not an account exists for the email you enter. Check your inbox and spam folder for the reset message.

Change your email

  1. Go to /dashboard/account.
  2. Open the email section and enter your new address.
  3. Confirm with your password.
  4. Open the verification message sent to the new address and confirm.

Your email changes only after you verify the new address, so a typo cannot lock you out.

Sign out everywhere

If you used a shared or lost device, end every active session at once.

  1. Go to /dashboard/account.
  2. Select Sign out everywhere.

Every session, including the current one, is invalidated and must sign in again.

Tip: Pair sign-out-everywhere with a password change if you think a session was compromised. The password change also invalidates old sessions.
