Compliance gaps and how to clear them

Understand the five kinds of compliance gaps AuditHalo flags and the specific action each one needs to move a supervisee back toward green.

Last updated Sep 14, 2026

This guide explains the gaps AuditHalo shows on a supervisee's detail page. A gap is a specific, actionable reason a supervisee is not fully compliant. Each one carries a severity and a next step, so a yellow or red status always tells you exactly what to do.

Severity, quickly

  • Info: context, no action forced.
  • Warning: attention needed; contributes to yellow status.
  • Blocker: serious; drives red status until resolved.

Gaps are grouped by type on the detail page so related items appear together.

The five gap actions

Each gap is one of five kinds, and the kind tells you the move.

1. Attestation

A fact needs to be recorded, for example a supervision contract filed with the board or a required training completed. Clear it by recording the attestation with its date. See Assigning and attesting rules.

2. Recurring behavior

An ongoing cadence is behind, for example an individual supervision session is due. Clear it by doing and logging the next session.

3. Data correction

Existing data is wrong or inconsistent, and the gap highlights the specific session rows involved. Clear it by correcting the offending entries.

4. Data accumulation

Nothing is wrong; the supervisee simply needs more hours. The gap shows progress toward the target. Clear it by continuing to accumulate and approve hours.

5. Time warning

A deadline is approaching or has passed, for example a permit expiration window. The gap shows days remaining or overdue status. Clear it by acting before the date.

Work by exception

Use the roster's at-risk filter to find red supervisees, open each one, and clear blockers first. A blocker is what holds a supervisee at red; resolving it is usually the fastest way back toward green. See Understanding your compliance dashboard.

Note: A supervisee on approved leave has cadence checks paused, so a recurring-behavior gap will not appear for the leave period.
