Notification preferences

Control which AuditHalo notifications reach you by email, understand the in-app bell, and know which events notify each role.

Last updated Sep 14, 2026

This guide covers notifications: the in-app bell, the emails AuditHalo can send, and how to control which ones reach you. Notifications keep signatures and deadlines from slipping, so tune them rather than ignore them.

Notification preferences live on your account page at /dashboard/account.

The bell and email

Every notification appears in the in-app bell. Email is an additional channel you control per notification type, so you can keep everything in the bell and send only the ones that matter to your inbox.

  • Bell: shows all your unread notifications. Mark one, or all, as read.
  • Email: opt in or out per notification type.

Set your preferences

  1. Go to /dashboard/account.
  2. Open notification preferences.
  3. Toggle email on or off for each notification type.
  4. Save.

What notifications cover

AuditHalo notifies you about the events that need attention, including:

  • A session that needs your signature.
  • An evidence package that sealed.
  • A session scheduled, canceled, or rescheduled, and session reminders.
  • Practice hours submitted for approval, or an entry rejected.
  • A rule change affecting a supervisee, and a trial ending soon.

Which notifications you receive depends on your role. For example, a supervisor is notified when practice hours are submitted for approval, while a supervisee is notified when an entry is rejected. Executives receive no notifications, in keeping with the read-only oversight role.

Note: Turning off an email does not remove the notification; it still appears in the bell. Keep signature-related emails on so a session does not wait unseen.
