Approving and rejecting practice hours
Review the practice hours your supervisees submit, approve them in a batch, or reject an entry with a reason so only attested hours count.

What you’ll need
- A supervisor account with supervisees who have logged practice hours
This guide is for supervisors. When a supervisee logs practice hours, the hours sit as pending until you approve them. Approval is your attestation that the hours are real, so only approved hours count toward the supervisee's requirements.
Review the approval queue
Pending practice hours appear on the supervisee's detail page.
- Open the supervisee at
/dashboard/roster/[superviseeId]. - Find the pending practice entries in the session log.
- Check each entry's date, duration, and direct contact hours against what you know of the supervisee's caseload.

Approve hours
You can approve several entries at once.
- Select the pending entries you want to approve.
- Approve the batch.
The hours count immediately. The supervisee's progress bars and compliance status update to reflect the newly counted hours.
Tip: Approve on a regular cadence, for example after each supervision session, so a supervisee's dashboard never lags far behind their real hours.
Reject an entry
If an entry is wrong, reject it rather than leaving it pending.
- Open the entry.
- Reject it and enter a reason.
AuditHalo deletes the rejected entry and notifies the supervisee with your reason so they can log a corrected version.
Warning: Rejecting an entry deletes it. The supervisee must log a new, corrected entry; there is no edit-in-place for a rejected record. Give a clear reason so the correction is right the first time.
What counts, and when
- Only approved practice hours count toward the state rule.
- Pending and rejected hours do not count.
- Approving or rejecting is recorded in the audit log for the organization.
